Axe Valley & West Dorset Ring & Ride

logoThe Ring & Ride Service is a charitable organisation administered by a volunteer Management Committee, which oversees the running of the service and employs the administrator who works from an office in Honiton. The Service is funded by donations and grants from Devon and Dorset County Councils, East Devon and West Dorset District Councils, charitable organisations and some Parish Councils (including Uplyme).

The Ring & Ride service provides transport for all elderly or disabled people or for anyone in rural areas who does not have easy access to public transport.

Shopping trips

A full programme of shopping trips to various towns both local and as far as Taunton and Sherborne is provided. Trips from the Uplyme area take place on Thursdays: price £5 – first pick up 9am, return at noon. Full assistance with loading/unloading your shopping, or other related matters, is provided by the driver.


The Ring & Ride Service also runs a Passenger Club. Membership of the Club provides outings on Wednesdays and Saturdays to various interesting destinations and major shopping centres with prices ranging from £5 to £15. Please pay for your trip on the day directly to the driver. Saturday trips: first pick up 9.30am, return 4pm (times are approximate); Wednesday trips: first pick up 1.30pm return 5pm.
